Tina’s Story

The Chi Alpha staff/family was never content with just letting me be “Christian.” There was always someone asking me how I really was and where I was with God. There was always someone challenging me to continue to seek, always someone praying for me, always someone speaking truth to shake things up. I know people at Chi Alpha who live like there is a God who loves them and He is everything. Crazy! When I first came to college, their devotion and joy was a sign of life and hope when all I could see was routine and half-answered theological questions. And that sign of life kept me looking for more.

“He loves you, He loves you, He loves you, He loves you, He loves you, He loves you, He loves you. I just felt that God wanted to tell you that; and He says draw close to me and I will draw close to you.”

One of the staff at Chi Alpha prayed over me and then told me this at fall retreat. Since then I’ve been flipped head over feet and fallen in love with the Creator of the universe. (I am smiling ear to ear right now, can you tell?) I can try to tell you why and try to explain how it happened, but my logical explanations are so inadequate they’re laughable. It all comes back to this: He loves me in the most extravagant, ridiculous ways. Chi Alpha, thank you for being one of those ways.
