Jordan’s Story

While in Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, my freshmen small group was an enormous part of my spiritual growth in college. I accepted Jesus Christ into my life in 9th grade and one thing that held me back spiritually were my friends. It was as if I was playing tug of war with my closest friends in high school, but they would always win. I later realized that this part of my life was all part of God’s plan just like it says in Jeremiah 29:11. God has allowed me to not only learn how to live a Christian lifestyle, but also put it into action with other friends. I realize that when you go out to evangelize, it can be a little scary the first couple of times, but the small group taught what it meant to walk in unity leaving fear behind. As a small group we were encouraged by 2 Timothy 1: 7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  The bond that I had between each brother in my small group has helped me sustain my intimacy with Christ through prayer and scripture. Now that God has given me this incredible experience, I feel so blessed and excited to share God’s love because of the desire he has placed in my heart.
