Weekend Events

Alumni, we've missed you! We're so excited to host you back in Blacksburg and are already praying for a fruitful, fun weekend together as we move Virginia Tech Chi Alpha forward.

This form will detail the weekend's events and give options to choose from. Please review and then respond with your information and which event(s) you will be attending. We also fully expect you to rest and enjoy your weekend with those you may know coming in town so feel free to use Saturday morning and afternoon to go on a hike, run the 3.2 for 32,  go to the Spring game or anything else that brings back the memories and nostalgia!

We love how many spouses and children we anticipate coming back to join us! For the purposes of this form, you will see different options appear as you fill out information. Thank you for your responses!
Friday April 12:
Event: Smores with the Sals
Time: 7 PM
Location: The Saladino Home. Address will be emailed.
Details: Restfully kicking off our weekend, this will be a time to gather at the Saladinos home, eat Smores, enjoy the fire and share all the stories from your time at VT and what God has been doing since!

Saturday April 13:
Event: Breakfast at the XA House
Time: 8-11 AM
Location: 210 Otey Street Blacksburg, VA 24060
**This is across the street from the historic Chi Alpha location (previously referred to as the "lawyer lot"). This is our home in this season!
Details: Get back in the mission move in mindset! Tour the XA house with staff and enjoy some breakfast before the game.

Saturday April 13:
Event: Development Dinner
Time: 6-8 PM
Location: The Inn at Virginia Tech
Come have a top notch "Inn" dinner with a glimpse of all God has done in and through Virginia Tech Chi Alpha the last five years as well as what He is about do the next five! This is our premier opportunity to sow financially into the ministry and has limited seating. Because this dinner is appealing to a broader audience of parents, ministry partners, business, locals, family, and our alumni, seating is limited to a first come first serve basis. This event is semi-formal dress.

Saturday April 13:
Event: Something in a Mug - Singles Edition
Time: 9:30 PM
Location: TBD
Details: We'll keep this simple: our alumni are the best. Come meet your fellow single alumni in a comfortable setting for conversation.

Sunday April 14:
Event: Church with Chi Alpha, Lunch, & Kid's Fun!
Time: 10 AM
Location: Tried Stone Christian Fellowship, 2100 N Main St., Blacksburg, VA 24060
Details: We can't leave town without worshipping together alongside some of our current students. We will be having a special Chi Alpha Sunday service. We did this at our last alumni weekend and it was a sweet time having generations come together praising our King. Jesus is the center of this weekend and we want to honor Him. We will spend time in worship, receive a message, enjoy fellowship over a meal, and have fun outdoor activities (weather permitting) for our children and families!

Saturday April 13:
Event: 3.2-Mile Run in Remembrance
Time: 9 AM
Location: Meet Up at XA House (210 Otey Street Blacksburg, VA 24060)
Details: On Saturday, April 13, Virginia Tech’s annual 3.2-mile Run in Remembrance will be hosted on the Blacksburg campus as the community remembers the vibrant lives of the 32 students and faculty who were tragically taken from us in 2007. Please make your own arrangements for registration, parking, transportation, and meals.

Saturday April 13:
Event: Virginia Tech Spring Football Game
Time: 3 PM; meeting at 2:30 PM
Location: Meet Up at XA House (210 Otey Street Blacksburg, VA 24060)
Details: We wanted to host alumni on a weekend where we all can re-live our game day moments with the spring game! Feel free to plan to meet together at the XA house to head over to Lane. Please make your own arrangements for tickets, parking, transportation, and meals.

Monday April 15:
Event: VTXA Spring Classic Golf Tournament
Time: 7:30AM Registration, 9AM Tee-Off
Location: Pete Dye River Club at 8400 River Course Dr, Radford, VA 24141
Cost: $150 per player, $500 per team
The Virginia Tech Chi Alpha Spring Classic is a charity golf tournament that not only raises money for a great cause, but also provides an unforgettable experience at one of the most beautiful country clubs in the state of Virginia. Proceeds go toward empowering and equipping the next generation to transform the university, the marketplace, and the world.

Monday April 15:
Event: Ignite on Campus
Time: 8 PM
Location: Squires Colonial
Details: For our local peeps and any remote workers or those who can stay an extra day, we just wanted to invite you to our weekly Ignite student service. This is now on Monday evenings (whereas many of you remember Wednesday nights!) Come see what service looks like now and meet our students!
