The Book of Luke

A 25 day devotional series for this Winter Break!

Day 1

Are you facing an impossible situation this holiday season? Do you struggle with doubts and questions of whether God can or will actually move in your life, your family’s life, or your friend’s life? In the fire of unanswered prayer, addiction, apathy, anxiety, depression, and despair; we have evidence of hope, joy, and salvation.

Luke’s purpose in writing this Gospel was to give an orderly account of all Jesus began to do and teach, so that Theophilus would have certainty of things he had been taught (Luke 1:4). This holiday season you can have certainty, you can have evidence, and you can believe for the impossible to be possible in your life by allowing the Gospel to become more than just words but become your assurance, your faith, and living hope. 1 Timothy 4:10 states, “For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.” As you read today’s Chapter, the impossible becomes possible. In the midst of whatever toil and trial you are facing, allow God to build a faith, confidence, and a hope in you as you choose to believe that when it comes to Jesus, certainty and possibility are available for all who call upon him as Savior and Lord.

Read Luke 1 and answer the questions to the left to help you reflect on the passage.
